Mandisa
Mandisa Lynn Hundley professionally known as Mandisa, is an American gospel singer and was the ninth-place finalist in the fifth season (2006) of American Idol. After graduating from El Camino Fundamental High School, she attended American River College in Sacramento where she studied Vocal Jazz. Then she studied at Fisk University in Tennessee and graduated with a bachelor's of music degree with a concentration in vocal performance.
Two time GRAMMY ® nominee Mandisa’s discography includes True Beauty, It’s Christmas, Freedom and now What If We Were Real on Sparrow Records. The season 5 American Idol finalist is also an author with the release of Idoleyes: My New Perspective on Faith, Fat & Fame. Mandisa was one of only 26 Idols selected to open Walt Disney World’s American Idol Experience in early 2009. Known for her transparency, Mandisa has been seen on Today, CNN Online, E! News Live, EXTRA as well as the pages of US Weekly and People discussing her weight loss journey. Mandisa entered the night as one of the most nominated artists – alongside host Lecrae, Artist of the Year Hillsong UNITED and Matt Maher – and was the previous year’s winner of the 2013 UPLift Someone Award.
Nashville, Tenn. - GRAMMY® Award winner Mandisa announced the upcoming release of her first ever full remix album, Get Up: The Remixes, set to debut September 16. The album will feature remixes of her biggest hits including "Overcomer," "Stronger" and "Good Morning," all three of which Mandisa has performed on ABC's Good Morning America.
