In 2006, they made the journey overseas to America and lived in Ohio for three years as they began their professional career, but found their permanent home in Nashville, July 2010. In 2011, the Gettys welcomed a new addition to their family when their daughter, Eliza Joy, was born. The Gettys have released 4 albums and have garnered incredible success in 6 short years that include an acclaimed repertoire of 21st century hymns and one of the most impactful live performances. The couple has appeared at Franklin Graham crusades, the GMA Dove Awards, The Third Lausanne Conference on World Evangelization, as well as feature performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the legendary Grand Ole Opry, along with many other noted platforms. One of Keith Getty’s most popular compositions is In Christ Alone, co-written with Stuart Townend and released in 2001.The song was well-received that year but continues to grow in popularity, remaining the #1 most-sung-hymn in the UK since 2006 (CCLI) and finding position among the top 20 such songs in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Nashville, TN — Getty Music announces the release of the first live album from Keith and Kristyn Getty, which was recorded at The Gospel Coalition in Orlando, FL, this past spring. Keith and Kristyn Getty Live at The Gospel Coalition is produced by Ed Cash and features 13 previously-released songs that are heard live on a recording for the first time, along with a new tune, Lift High the Name of Jesus (co-written by the Gettys and Cash), and some of the Getty’s favorite traditional hymns. The project will be available at all retail and digital music outlets on September 10, 2013, and will be distributed in North America by Capitol Christian Distribution and elsewhere by Kingsway Music.

“Working with Keith and Kristyn has been one of the great joys of my career,” says Cash. “First and foremost, their songs are packed full of theological truth, but their commitment to musical excellence and great melodies with respect to church tradition is unparalleled. This album is a fabulous collection of songs recorded in a live atmosphere with a real congregation exalting the Almighty. I tend to crave authenticity, especially with live records, and this project is chock-full of it. At the same time, the album has a professionalism due to the extremely high caliber nature of the players, and of course the driving excellence of Keith's piano playing and Kristyn's voice.”

Keith and Kristyn Getty Live at The Gospel Coalition is comprised of several performances occurring during the 5-day conference that included sermons from such well-known speakers as Tim Keller, Senior Pastor of Redeemer Church in New York City/Author; John Piper, Founder/Teacher of desiringGod.org; and Don Carson, Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Keller adds, “The 2013 Gospel Coalition National Conference blended the spoken Word and the sung Word in an unforgettable way. Substantive expositions of the Biblical text were interwoven with the Gettys’ theologically-rich worship hymns. Together they truly did ‘tune our hearts to sing His grace.’”

The Gettys are in their homeland of Northern Ireland spending time on a songwriting sabbatical and reconnecting with family and friends. When they return to the States in late August, they will begin rehearsals for a fall tour in support of the new project that will run September-November and crisscross the country. NASHVILLE, Tenn.— Hymns for the Christian Life, the highly-anticipated fourth U.S. release from preeminent Irish modern hymn writers and recording artists Keith & Kristyn Getty, will bow October 9. Produced by Charlie Peacock (The Civil Wars, Switchfoot) and Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe), the 12-song project explores such themes as work, family, money, community and social action, showcasing Irish melodies as well as American bluegrass and country music influences.

This original collection is highlighted by a special 10th anniversary recording of “In Christ Alone,” featuring 27-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Alison Krauss. Penned by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend, the world-renowned modern hymn has been recorded by numerous artists over the past decade—including Owl City, Natalie Grant and Newsboys—and is a classic sung in churches around the globe.

In addition, bluegrass icon Ricky Skaggs joins the couple on “Simple Living (A Rich Young Man).” Written by Keith & Kristyn Getty and Stuart Townend, the song is based on the Bible story of the rich young ruler. Clannad’s Moya Brennan, one of Ireland’s most beloved recording artists, also contributes to Hymns for the Christian Life, singing a traditional Gaelic lullaby as part of “A Mother’s Prayer.” Keith & Kristyn Getty, along with Fionan de Barra (Broadway's Riverdance), penned the piece for their young daughter, Eliza Joy.

“The concept for these songs began two years ago when we took a break from touring and settled in Nashville,” says Keith Getty. “Amid conversations with friends and coworkers around our dinner table and on our porch, we found ourselves discussing the challenges of the Christian life. We pondered ideas such as, ‘What does it mean to succeed in your job but not make it your god? How do I handle doubt? In what way should I pray for my children? What is our responsibility for the care of others inside and outside our community?’ We believe the Gospel story touches every part of life, so these new songs are a reflection of those conversations and us turning to the Gospel for guidance.”

“We hope Hymns for the Christian Life also reflects our continuing goal to write modern hymns for the Church,” adds Kristyn Getty. “What excites us most about the work we do is seeing a song used by a congregation and hoping it becomes part of the soundtrack that follows a believer through life."

Keith & Kristyn Getty are among the preeminent modern hymn composers of this generation. Writers of an acclaimed repertoire of 21st century hymns revered both for their theologically astute lyrics and universally beloved melodies, the couple’s popular U.S. recordings include In Christ Alone, Awaken The Dawn and Joy – An Irish Christmas. They have shared their music at Franklin Graham crusades, the GMA Dove Awards, The Third Lausanne Conference on World Evangelization, as well as feature performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall and the legendary Grand Ole Opry, among many other noted platforms. Keith & Kristyn Getty, along with their band—an ensemble of some of the top names in Irish and American folk music—are in the midst of their Hymns for the Christian Life Tour, which is hitting multiple U.S. cities this fall.
