Prism was the creation of Mark Hiemermann and Chris Harris, two popular studio musicians. The idea behind the project was to take a handful of Sunday school songs and spruce them up with snappy techno-pop arrangements. The projects were marketed to young people but found surprise success on Christian radio.
Prism released four albums on Reunion Records, entitled Red, Yellow, Blue, and a Christmas album entitled Green. A greatest hits collection was also released in 1989. The projects were voiced by contemporary artists of the day including Amy Grant, Chris Rodriguez, First Call and others.
