Jeremy Camp

Jeremy Thomas Camp is a contemporary Christian musician from Lafayette, Indiana. Camp has released seven albums, four of them RIAA-certified as Gold and two are live albums, and 17 number-one hit songs. His original music is a mixture of ballads and rock. Camp is also an ordained minister.

Jeremy Camp was born on January 12, 1978 in Lafayette, Indiana] His father Tom, the pastor at Harvest Chapel (a Calvary Chapel church in Lafayette), taught him how to play guitar. After completing high school, Camp attended a Calvary Chapel Bible College in Southern California for two years. After one of the worship leaders heard him play in the kitchen of the school he urged Camp to become a part of the worship team. Soon he led worship and played all over Southern California.

Camp has scored fourteen No. 1 Christian music hits (six from his first album, Stay). His first single was "Understand". He has made nine music videos: "Understand", "Walk By Faith", "Take You Back", "Tonight", "Give You Glory", "Let It Fade", "I Am Willing",a song which was not included on any of his albums, "Speaking Louder Than Before", and "The Way". He also has video devotionals for several songs on YouTube and GodTube. He has also released a DVD (In24) which chronicles a regular day on tour. Live Unplugged from Franklin, TN also includes a DVD of the concert, which was recorded for the live album. He also has scored a musical number "This Man" and his video can be seen on YouTube. This video was made with clips from the movie The Passion of the Christ.

Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp, were married on October 21, 2000. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and died on February 5, 2001, when he was 23 and she was 21. Some of his early songs reflect the emotional ordeal of her illness. "I Still Believe" was the first song he wrote after her death. "Walk By Faith" was written during their honeymoon.

In December 2003, he married Adrienne Liesching, former frontwoman for The Benjamin Gate. They have two daughters: Isabella Rose Camp (born September 25, 2004) and Arianne Mae Camp (born April 5, 2006). In 2009 Adrienne and Jeremy Camp announced that they were expecting their third child, and three months into her pregnancy Adrienne lost the baby. In 2011 the couple announced they were expecting a baby boy.

"Don’t let the title fool you. The album may be called Reckless, but Jeremy Camp is as solid as ever. While the songs encourage listeners to live with abandon when it comes to spiritual things, this is a well-planned collection of worship pop-rock." - Rhapsody

"Camp’s fervent heart for ministry and for God is evident through the songs and the production of the album. Reckless is honest and heartfelt, and carries some songs that would be useful in the church." - Worship Leader

"Musically, Reckless is one of the most raw and organic offerings of his career. Reckless simply reflects Camp’s heart-on-your-sleeve candor, a rare combination that shows up in a slightly more grown-up music bed." - GMCtv

"From difficult times to good ones, Camp shares a Reckless faith through it all" - About.com

"Filled with passionate songs birthed in the furnace of worship, prayer and intercession, Jeremy Camp’s new studio album Reckless is a powerful experience calling the body of Christ to a revival and restoration in Christ with eleven brand new original songs." - NewReleaseTuesday

The album is produced by Brown Bannister and Ben Shive along with Camp.

Camp’s Christmas album is filled with holiday classics as well as the original title track “God With Us.” Fans will hear favorites such as “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Joy To The World,” and “Mary Did You Know.” Although these are traditional songs, Jeremy takes a fresh approach to the arrangements on his album.

"I wanted to pick songs that I listened to growing up, and make them my own,” shares Camp on the song selection process. “I also selected Christmas carols that my family and I now love to sing each Christmas."

The original track “God With Us” was written after a night of reflection of what Jesus has done for mankind.

"It was amazing to think that our King actually came to this earth and walked among us as human flesh,” states Camp. “The lyrics came out as an expression of what I was thinking at that moment."
