Precious Death

Band Members:

Precious Death was a Southern California group that 7ball magazine described as "a retro hard rock band with a modern metal twist." The group aleternated between songs with a clear and explicit Christian message and songs that were simply written by Christians about life in general.

After a demo creatively titled Our Stinkin' Demo, the group put out a one-step removed custom album caled Southpaw that was later re-released by Metro One. Southpaw revels in its hardcore intensity whil playing with the stereotypical formulas of that genre in creative ways.

Shades of hardcore would continue to show up on the next two projects, albeit with even more excursions into mood-altering, contemplative sounds and funk-metal.

In 1996, vocalist Chris Scott and guitarist David Bishop formed a new band with drummer Lorenzo Mauro called Blackball. But Precious Death would regroup to record one last self-titled project.
