Vertical Church band worship leader Jon Guerra releases debut album

Nashville, Tenn. – Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Jon Guerra releases his first full-length debut album, Little Songs (Essential Records/Provident LabelGroup), today, April 21, 2015. Fans recently got a taste for Guerra’s fresh artistic style on the Rock & Worship Roadshow alongside top acts including Crowder, Matt Maher and Jamie Grace, among others.

As a member of Vertical Church Band, Guerra leads worship at Chicago’s Harvest Bible Chapel when he’s not on the road. Prior to taking his place among the worship collective, the Wheaton, Ill.-native cut his teeth as a jingle writer for mega companies like Comcast, Chase Bank and Allstate Insurance. In addition, he’s opened for the likes of .fun, and was courted by labels before finally signing with Essential Records in 2014.

Little Songs reflects Guerra’s skilled musicianship and vast experience and reveals his heart for worship. Relevant Magazine is already praising Guerra’s offerings as “some of the most creative music we have heard in a while… “Inspired by everyone from Bob Dylan and Rich Mullins to Emily Dickinson and George Herbert, Guerra fuses the personal with the prolific.”

“The most personal songs are the most worshipful for me, and every song on the record is extremely personal,” Guerra shares. “All of these 11 songs are my best effort at being a songwriter, at pleasing God, at giving something that I think is going to be useful to my friends and family in their journey of faith, and something that will be useful to churches on aSunday morning as they’re trying to engage with God as a faith community.”

Guerra is currently on the road with Matt Maher on “The Saints & Sinners Tour.”
